BooBoo Bags
By Sandi (FloridaSmiles)

This is an easy project for anyone who knows how to thread a needle! BooBoo Bags are fabric bags filled with something that can be frozen (like rice, for example). The BooBoo Bag goes into the freezer and when your little one has an accident, these colorful cold packs can make even the roughest days easier to bear!

What you'll need:

- At least a half yard of fabric
- A needle and thread, optional sewing machine
- A filler (dry rice, beans, or cherry pits)
- Scissors
- A wooden or plastic spoon or rounded tip stick

STEP 1:

Start off with 2 pieces of material and cut to the same size. Choose a size you are comfortable with. This project uses fabric pieces that are 5" x 5".

STEP 2:

With the outer shell of the fabric squares facing each other, sew the pieces together, leaving a one inch opening on one of the four sides of the fabric. The photo to the left shows the opening at the top with the sewn side on the right.

STEP 3:

Using your fingers, gently turn the "bag" right side out.

STEP 4:

Use a rounded tip stick, like a wooden or plastic spoon to form the corners of your bag.

STEP 5:

Now you can fill your bag with your dry material to desired firmness. Remember not to pack it too full. A good rule of thumb is to not fill more than 3/4 of the way full. Then, simply handstitch the bag closed and put in the freezer. It will then be ready for the next booboo around the corner!

Helpful Tip:

You can alter this project to make a soothing eye pack for yourself! Simply add essential oils used to calm and relax to strips of fabric. Mix those strips into your filling before you sew your pack closed. You can microwave your pack for 30 seconds and then place over your eyes for a relaxing and calming journey away from your worries!
