Tiffani Lawton, RN
Antepartum & Postpartum Doula

Tiffani , mother to 4 boys, ages 16, 13, 2 & 1, has been a registered nurse for 10 years practicing in multiple areas including but not limited to oncology, mental health, infectious disease, administration and education. Education is her love.

As a nurse, Tiffani has been published multiple times in national & regional nursing journals as well as in multiple local newspapers.

Tiffani was on bed rest with complications in all four pregnancies that resulted in c-sections. There was no support network for her with the last 2 babies and no services to tap into in her region. The birth of her last son was the most complicated. Within the first 24 hours after the birth of her son, he refluxed so severely in the nursery that he stopped breathing and needed to be resuscitated. The following 3 months were very difficult for Tiffani as her baby was on a monitor and stopped breathing a few more times. Her c-section incision became infected resulting in a 6 month battle with IV antibiotics to beat it.

While all this was going on, she still had to tend to the needs of her two teenage sons and 13 month old son while her husband worked full time. As a result, she fell into postpartum depression.

Tiffani believes that the majority of the complications could have been eased if not eliminated through proper support channels and education. The birth of her last son, Kieran, was the motivating force for her to turn her nursing degree into a resource to assist other women in need. Through the Childbirth and Postpartum Professional Association, she began working on her certifications as an ante partum and postpartum doula and is currently working on certification as a lactation educator. Tiffani's future plans include prenatal and postnatal fitness, infant massage, and much more.

Tiffani's vision is simple, to educate and support prenatal women so that they can achieve their personal optimal results and to nurture and support the postpartum moms through their transition into motherhood.
