In his practice, James works with children, adolescents, adults, families and conducts social skills groups. He employs a cognitive-behavioral treatment approach in dealing with anxiety, panic, depression, obsessive-compulsive patterns, relationships and eating disorders. His writings have included such topics as the parenting process, dealing with oppositional teens, reflections on the pop culture, identifying family systems problems, personal growth and development, and couples counseling issues. He is published in the Illinois Counseling Journal on the topic of The Application of Cognitive Therapy to the Treatment of Anorexia Nervosa. James has been a contributing writer to the Independent Newspapers of Scottsdale, Paradise Valley and Northeast Phoenix. In the Arizona Health Magazine, his articles include The Art of Parenting, and most recently, Talk Therapy's Response to Pain Management.
